Are you a female entrepreneur (or as we like to say, fempreneur) running your own business? We understand that it’s 2022, and getting your business noticed when almost every market is saturated is becoming more and more difficult.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you! Here are six tips you can use to stand out from the crowd and master your marketing.

1. Know your customer

Phone them, message them, meet with them. Understand what they want, when they want it, how they want it. Never assume you know. Do this on a frequent basis. The world is changing every day…and so is your customer. Use your customers as a sounding board. Let them guide you to what they want to see and hear from you.

2. Segment your customer base

Not all customers are made equal. Some value price, others value service. Some love social media, others prefer email or to pick up the phone. Figure out what they want (as per point 1) and then group your communication and marketing efforts accordingly. Marketing to the masses is a losing strategy

3. Stay consistent

Don’t be fooled by your own boredom. Your customers NEED you to be repetitive. Ever heard of Nike’s ‘Just Do It’? They’ve been repeating themselves for years and we’re still not bored. Right? Consistency is key. Find creatively different ways to execute the same message. Test what works. Lose what doesn’t. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

4. Download Canva

Let cool apps like Canva do the design work for you. It’s free, it saves you so much time and it will do a much better job than you can (unless you’re a design whiz)

5. Run Social Media Ads Right

When it comes to paid advertising on social media, boosted posts are great for engagement but if you are serious about making sales you need to get familiar with the Facebook Ads & Business Manager (Meta For Business). Facebook Blueprint is a fantastic free resource filled with courses and certifications on how to make the most of the Facebook marketing platforms.

6. Use Google Shopping to reach buyers

If you’re an eCommerce business selling products, you need to investigate Google Shopping – You know when you Google ‘Red Dress’ and the pics from Superbalist come up – That’s it. You can link your product data directly from your eCommerce website into Google’s Merchant Centre to start running ads with rich product information – that catch the attention of potential shoppers.
