27 April 2022. To many, today marks the annual commemoration of South Africa’s first non-racial democratic elections of 1994, and it goes without saying that such an impactful day often brings about a sort of historical energy to the atmosphere.
Much like our energy is impacted day-to-day by the people we surround ourselves with, as individuals, we’re often influenced by our communities, where we come from, and the events that have shaped us.
While memories may fade with time, research suggests that energy holds greater capabilities, transcending time and allowing such turning points in time to impact generations to come.
But in a post-1994, post-COVID world, it seems as though people have forgotten the significance of the freedom we so easily take for granted. Instead, we choose to suffer willingly at the hands of our own psychological barriers.
This begs the question: What exactly is freedom?
The answer will likely be different for everyone, but this much is true: Freedom means love.
It means finding gratitude for the present, choosing forgiveness and taking action. Most of all, it means expressing the power of intent by facing reality, taking responsibility for our own life, and loving ourselves so much that we have no other choice but to relentlessly pursue turning our dreams into reality.
This is freedom. After all, the freedom we have been fighting for all along is the freedom to be and express our own authentic selves.
So ladies, today we encourage you to embrace the energy of Freedom Day! What does freedom mean to you? We’d love to hear from you! Let us know via the Xena Community.
